EMILIE SARAH WILLIAMS

Hey y’all, I’m Emilie aaaand I’m pretty into gifs.

Okay, I’m definitely into them.

They’ve more or less taken the place of all my electronic conversation… You could call it lazy, I call it inspired.

They just make me laugh. Sometimes they just express how you feel better than words can. I like how neatly they capture a moment or an interaction. They help evoke feelings or a memory… As corny as that may be.

So, then it happened that I was updating my resume for a new job search and I lamented to a friend about how I wanted it to be more like me… ‘If only I could make a CV using gifs,’ I said. Then I realized, I got this…

A little searching and organizing later, this is what I’ve come up with…

Hope you enjoy the ride.

They celebrate with an “Ooh la la” and a “Yee-haw.”

In 1987, we move to Zaire where my dad’s job will have us live for the next three years.

This contributes to my interest in traveling and learning about other cultures … and, years later, cool throwback pictures on Instagram.

At sixteen, I start working in a restaurant, so I can stop asking my parents for money.

It’s a love(/hate) affair that lasts for over 10 years, as I climb through the ranks from hostess to head bartender, even assistant manager.

I graduate from the University of Virginia in May 2008, with a BA in Economics.

After graduating, I work for the UVA Football Office.

I have a better time than the team does…

I do a bit of catering and event planning as well…

January 2010 marks when I land my first full-time, salaried position.

I start my career as a Marketing Associate with SNL Financial.

My type-A personality gets put to good use as I’m allowed to organize as much, and makes as many spreadsheets, as I want.

In July of 2011, I pack up my stuff and my dog and begin a new adventure in Paris.

And for nearly two years, I work as a Financial Aid and Admissions Counselor at The American University of Paris.

Always great to be back in the high education community…

But eventually, I found my way back home. Out of the big city, and into the big country.

And I’m stoked to be back!

Yay! That’s it!
